On November 1st 2008 the Farukh Ruzimatov Foundation ‘The Renaissance of the Dance Art’ together with Repin State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture organize a competition among students of the institute within the framework of the Marius Petipa monument project. The competition is arranged with the aim to obtain new proposals for general artistic image and design of the future monument.
The competition will be held a part of the institute curriculum: within three hours students will have to complete the task and produce and present a sculptural and architectural design proposal for the Petipa monument.
Daria Kim, art director of the F. Ruzimatov Foundation: ‘We are currently in the search to select the best artistic solution for the Marius Petipa project, and we hope that this competition can lead to some interesting proposals.’
Upon the results of the competition some works will be selected for further elaboration of the original concept and participation in the second round of the general competition for the Marius Petipa project.
